Ron Arad

Born in 1951 in Tel Aviv/Israel. He attended the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem from 1971 to 1973, and the Architechtural Association in London from 1974 to 1979. He was head of the Design Product department at the Royal College of Art from 1997 to 2009.

Ron Arad is one of the most important designers of the latter part of the 20th century and is considered a master of curves. “Sometimes a shape is born inside of me and I bring it to life, and it’s so difficult that I swear to myself, next time it’ll be straight lines only!”. Arad has worked for Rosenthal since 1994.
