TAC CO-1
The circle and the sphere—in 1969, the founder of the Bauhaus movement, Walter Gropius, created the design classic, TAC, from these geometric shapes at the suggestion of Philip Rosenthal. The simple elegance of the tea service and its poetic purism in porcelain has captured the imagination of the public worldwide for decades. The Rosenthal studio-line continued the design ideas of Gropius with great success: TAC 02, a complete coffee, tea and dinner service, a design world at its most perfect, which has now been extended with new pieces. From small dishes and bowls right up to oval platters and a large terrine—TAC 02 fulfills all the functional requirements of modern table culture and is now being offered for the first time in a décor variant that subtly underlines its shape and silhouette. Like concentric circles on a smooth surface of water, horizontal lines on TAC 02 C-01 accentuate the round shape—a restrained, aesthetic delight worthy of Gropius, and an optical refinement of his design.
